stinger, you said: "I can keep up with anything until I hit speeds above 70."

What this means to me is that you can ride along with the Big Dogs as long as they do not set the pace over 70. I agree, I too ride with larger bikes, but unfortunately our Interstate allow 75mph and the other riders exceed the limit by a couple or few miles per hour.

There is also the high altitude factor for me and long hills that prevent my Savage from going over 60/ 65 (even with a down shift). Of course if the other guys are touring at 77 and I can only get 60 or possibly 65 in fourth gear on the mountain climb, it is not too long, before I am left behind. I also think that one should not stress their machine with extended full throttle driving!!!!

Even if I replaced the Savage engine with a 650 single 50hp BMW or 650 single 50hp KTM engine; I would still experience the poor high speed handling of a Savage,(loose steering and bouncing). SUZUKI DID NOT WANT US TO BE FAST on this bike. I see so many postings that deny that the Savage is a "Beginner's bike" a "Women's bike" or a "whoose"! Why do we have to keep denying this?? Facts speak louder than words---it is a "whoose"!

The Savage is the King of the LITTLE BIKES. nothing more.
What I need is a group, that all of the riders have Savages! Wouldn't that be a fun group?!?!
